Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

WIOAI Private Limited (CIN U72900DL2021PTC381171), registered office at Shop No. 1, Ground Floor, C-1/12, Rana Pratap Bagh, Delhi – 110007, India (“WIO AI”, “we”, “us”), operates wioai.com (the “Platform”), a directory where people discover, compare and review AI tools made by other companies, entities and individuals. We do not own, sell or operate any of the tools listed.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and what your rights are. It is issued under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (together, the “DPDP Act”), and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. Under the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary for your personal data.

You may ask for this policy in English or in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India by writing to thewioteam@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

• Account details: username, email address and password (stored only in hashed form), and any profile details you choose to add. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We use Google sign-in only to confirm who you are; we do not access your contacts, Drive or any other Google data.
• Age confirmation: your confirmation, when you create an account, that you are 18 or older.
• Contributions: reviews, ratings, tool submissions and suggested improvements, and any connection with a tool provider that you disclose. Approved contributions, reviews and leaderboard entries are shown publicly with your username or the display name you choose.
• WIO Coin records: coins earned, pending, used and reversed, and the perks you redeem.
• Messages: if you use our contact form, your name, business email, the subject you choose and your message.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time of access, and security logs.
• Cookies and analytics: as described in Section 5.

We do not collect payment details, government identifiers or financial information. Please do not include personal or sensitive information about yourself or others in reviews, submissions or messages.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and keep it secure.
• To moderate and publish your contributions, show the WIO Coin leaderboard, and credit and redeem WIO Coin.
• To reply to your messages and send service emails, such as password resets and moderation updates.
• To understand how the Platform is used and improve it (only with your consent, see Section 5).
• To prevent spam, fraud and misuse, enforce our Terms of Use and comply with law.

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box when you create an account, by submitting a form or by accepting analytics cookies, and for the legitimate uses permitted under Section 7 of the DPDP Act, such as complying with law. You may withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by deleting your account, changing your choice in “Cookie settings” or writing to us. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.

We do not use your personal data for advertising, and we will not send you marketing emails unless you separately opt in.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with the companies whose AI tools are listed on the Platform. We share it only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions: website hosting, our content management system, analytics (Google Analytics), sign-in (Google), spam and bot protection (Google reCAPTCHA) and transactional email delivery.
• Partners, only if you choose to redeem a WIO Coin partner perk that requires it. We will tell you what we share (usually your name and email address) before you redeem, and the partner’s own privacy policy then applies.
• Authorities, where required by law, court order or a lawful government request.
• A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, subject to this policy.

Some of these providers, including Google, may process data outside India, including in the United States. We transfer data outside India only as permitted by the DPDP Act.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice and keep the Platform secure. With your consent only, we use Google Analytics to measure visits and usage in aggregate. Google Analytics does not receive your name or email address, and we have turned off its advertising features. We do not use advertising cookies.

You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in.

Our sign-up and contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, and sends it to Google. Its use is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We also use Google Search Console to see how the Platform appears in Google Search. It provides only aggregated reports, such as search terms and clicks, which do not identify you, and it does not place cookies on the Platform.

6. How long we keep data

• Account data: kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account or ask us to erase it.
• Reviews and contributions: when you delete your account, your published reviews may remain on the Platform shown as “Community member”, without your username. If you want your reviews removed as well, tell us when you delete your account or at any time afterwards, and we will remove them.
• WIO Coin records: when your account is deleted, unused coins are cancelled. We keep a record of coin transactions only for as long as needed to prevent fraud and meet accounting requirements.
• Messages: kept for up to 12 months after we resolve your query, and then deleted.
• Security logs: kept for at least one year, as required by the DPDP Rules, 2025.
• Google Analytics data: kept for 14 months.

We keep data for longer only where the law requires it.

7. Security

We use reasonable security safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted and authenticated access to our systems, and logging of access. No system is fully secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected users without undue delay and report the breach to the Data Protection Board of India within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, as required by the DPDP Rules, 2025.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access a summary of your personal data and how it is processed, correct or update it, have it erased, withdraw consent, nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of your death or incapacity, and raise a grievance.

To exercise these rights, write to thewioteam@gmail.com from your registered email address. You can also delete your account from your account settings. To nominate a person, write to us with the nominee’s name and contact details. We will respond within 30 days, and in any case within 90 days.

9. Children

The Platform is meant for users aged 18 and above, and you must confirm that you are 18 or older when you create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the account.

10. Third-party tools and websites

The Platform links to AI tools and websites operated by others. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit or use them. Please read them before sharing any data.

Links to listed tools may include tracking parameters that tell the provider you came from WIO AI. We do not currently earn commissions from these links. If we do in future, we will disclose it clearly and update this policy.

11. Grievance Officer

For any question or complaint about your personal data, or about content posted on the Platform, contact:

We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India through its online platform, as provided under the DPDP Rules, 2025.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new date and notify registered users by email of significant changes before they take effect.
